Freedom at home in Lisbon to celebrate April 25

Lisbon

For the first time in 46 years, Lisbon was challenged to find new ways to live the Freedom conquered in April, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic

In the morning, we open the doors of the Lisbon City Hall and, this time online, we take you to the usual guided tour. The construction of the current building began in 1867. It was the scene of several important events, notably, of course, the proclamation of the Republic in Portugal, on October 5, 1910.

In an exceptional scenario, like the one we live in, the initiative of the musicians Branko and Dino D 'Santiago was born in a celebration different from the 25th of April. Avenida da Liberdade, closed to traffic this afternoon, was the stage for a livestream, about 30 minutes, with online transmission on the various platforms of the Lisbon City Hall.
