Here are some examples of the innovative projects that will receive support:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eic.easme-web.eu\/?p=190134541\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">MIWA<\/a> (company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miwa.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">MIWA Technologies<\/a>, a.s. from Czechia) \u2013 developing smart reusable packaging which minimises waste.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eic.easme-web.eu\/?p=190185351\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">mCUBE<\/a> (company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epigenelabs.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Epigene Labs SAS<\/a> from France) \u2013 a platform that accelerates data-driven drug discovery, biomarker identification, and patient selection &#8211; to bring better treatments to cancer patients faster.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eic.easme-web.eu\/?p=190182335\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">CO2TEXTILE<\/a> (company <a href=\"https:\/\/co2bioclean.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">CO2BioClean GmbH<\/a> from Germany) \u2013 developing a novel technology to produce 100% biodegradable textile fibres from CO2-emissions.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eic.easme-web.eu\/?p=190167799\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">DAC<\/a> (company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.airenergy.inf.ua\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">DAC Sp.z.o.o<\/a>. from Poland) \u2013 a new cooling technology that uses air instead of toxic HFCs (hydrofluorocarbons) to transfer energy, reducing CO2 by 50%.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eic.easme-web.eu\/?p=190143610\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">.lumen<\/a> (company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dotlumen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">SC DOTLUMEN SRL<\/a> from Romania) \u2013 developing glasses for the blind with technology to understand the environment and give feedback using sound and impulses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The selected companies have a wide geographical spread spanning 21 countries, including seven from Horizon Europe \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/research-and-innovation\/funding\/funding-opportunities\/funding-programmes-and-open-calls\/horizon-europe\/widening-participation-and-spreading-excellence_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">widening countries<\/a>\u201d that have lower levels of research and innovation performance. The selection also confirms the high demand for EIC equity investments with 65 of the 99 companies requesting equity investments of up to EUR 414 million (out of the total EUR 627 million). In most cases, the companies will receive the grant financing within the coming months, while the equity investment is likely to take longer as the arrangements for implementing EIC equity need to be re-established under Horizon Europe. This delay will also affect companies selected in the <a href=\"https:\/\/eic.ec.europa.eu\/news\/european-innovation-council-announces-new-wave-start-champions-2021-10-14_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">previous funding round<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Companies can submit their ideas to the EIC Accelerator at any time. For ideas meeting the EIC criteria for excellence, impact and risk-level, companies are invited to prepare full applications to submit to one of the regular cut-off dates. Due to a delay in the adoption of the EIC Work Programme, the <a href=\"https:\/\/eic.ec.europa.eu\/news\/eic-accelerator-first-cut-date-2022-delayed-2021-12-15_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">January 2022 cut-off date has been postponed<\/a>. We will inform about the next cut-off date as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"article-title\">Background information<\/h2>\n<p>The EIC Accelerator offers start-ups and SMEs grants of up to EUR 2.5 million combined with equity investments through the EIC Fund ranging from EUR 0.5 to EUR 15 million. In addition to financial support, all projects benefit from a range of Business Acceleration Services that provide access to leading expertise, corporates, investors and ecosystem actors.<\/p>\n<p>Since its launch in March 2021, over 4,000 start-ups and SMEs have sent their ideas and over 1800 have submitted full applications to the cut-offs in June and October.
