In New York, the infrastructure of a 17-story building in Manhattan is being upgraded to new carbon-efficient and energy cost-saving technology. The same technology is used in the small municipalities of Esl\u00f6v and V\u00e4xj\u00f6 in Sweden.<\/p>\n<p>A small Swedish company with excellence in thermal AI,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/smartcitysweden.com\/companies\/1771\/noda-intelligent-systems-ab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NODA Intelligent System,<\/a>&nbsp;is part of the overall solution, coordinating the use of heating and cooling in the building.&nbsp;Unlike traditional control systems, NODA\u2019s AI-based solution is self-learning and proactive. Based on available measurement data, the system learns itself over time and gets better as time goes by, which means that the system can adapt to the property\u2019s needs in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The same technology used in New York is also being used in Sweden, most recently in a project with energy company Kraftringen and property owner Esl\u00f6vsbost\u00e4der. In Esl\u00f6v, about 45 buildings are being connected to save energy, improve the indoor climate for the property owner and create thermal flexibility for Kraftringen, so that they can optimise production and distribution.<\/p>\n<p>V\u00e4xj\u00f6 municipality is another customer that sees the value of digital solutions within the energy and climate area. The municipality has entered an innovation partnership with a consortium in order to achieve better indoor climate in three schools and at the same time save energy.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 The biggest challenge is not to technically achieve a good indoor climate. The difficulty is to get people to comply with what is the best behaviour to make the most of the solution. In V\u00e4xj\u00f6 it can, for example, be about the students who are on the school premises. And the smarter digital systems you build, the closer you tend to get to people.
