The shelter is a non-permanent accommodation that currently caters for 60 men between the ages of 19 and 59 years old. Beneficiaries stay at the shelter for a maximum of six months.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Social Development organised stakeholders to provide services to displaced people. The<strong> Department of Health<\/strong> vaccinated individuals. <strong>Home Affairs<\/strong> was on hand to help displaced people apply for identity documents and the South African Social Security Agency gave displaced people information on how to apply for the Covid-19 R350 relief grant.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Wembley Stadium homeless shelter<\/strong> is run by the non-profit organisation <strong>Kusasa Lethu<\/strong> and is funded by the <strong>Gauteng Department of Social Development<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe shelter offers a holistic development programme for displaced people that looks at the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of each person. Those with health issues are referred to clinics or provincial hospitals and those with emotional issues are referred to psychologists,\u201d said <strong>Makhosonke Dlamini<\/strong> programme administrator at <strong>Kusasa Lethu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Displaced people are referred to the shelter by social workers. At the shelter displaced people are offered skills such as construction, IT skills, completion of matric and art skills.
