Not to mention a great deal of knowledge and expertise, as we were joined by 37 representatives from the city\u2019s heritage, public, creative industries, academic and voluntary and community sectors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HUB-In<\/strong> is all about promoting urban transformation and the regeneration of historic urban areas (HUA) using innovation and entrepreneurship as a catalyst in eight pilot cities.<\/p>\n<p>We had several aims for the workshop: giving delegates an overview of <strong>Belfast\u2019s HUB-In<\/strong> ambitions, Maritime Belfast Trust\u2019s work and an outline of wider innovation initiatives being developed across the city \u2013 not least the Innovation District where the <strong>HUB-In<\/strong> project is based.<\/p>\n<p>Our main objective was to generate and capture ideas on how local creatives can bring their unique perspectives to support the Maritime Mile\u2019s sustainability, preservation, and enhancement through innovation \u2013 and for these ideas to support the development of the Belfast roadmap.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ian Turner from Energy Cities<\/strong> provided expert facilitation and structure, using the open space process \u2013 encouraging delegates to participate and interact with colleagues they hadn\u2019t met before.<\/p>\n<p>Enthusiastic discussion centred on the following eight themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>local people and families<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>skills and education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>heritage and information sharing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>connectivity and infrastructure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>process and values<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>digital technologies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>music and arts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>environment and sustainability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>And now, it\u2019s over to the Belfast HUB-In team to review and refine with Energy Cities those fantastic workshop ideas to align them with the wider European HUB-In project.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Photo Credits: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.belfastcity.gov.uk\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Belfast City Council<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our main objective was to generate and capture ideas on how local creatives can bring their unique perspectives There was a palpable sense of energy and potential at our Belfast HUB-In roadmap workshop at Titanic Belfast.
