M\u00e1s concretamente, el trabajo concluye que la probabilidad de experimentar una ola de calor similar a la registrada en 2020 ha aumentado diez veces desde el periodo 1950-1984, en gran medida como resultado del cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n<p>Publicado en la revista&nbsp;<em>Communications Earth &amp; Environment<\/em>, que pertenece al grupo Nature, y titulado&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s43247-022-00450-5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00abClimate warming amplified the 2020 record-breaking heatwave in the Antarctic Peninsula\u00bb<\/a>, el art\u00edculo se fundamenta en el estudio de una de las m\u00e1s intensas olas de calor registradas en la pen\u00ednsula ant\u00e1rtica: la que tuvo lugar entre el 6 y el 11 de febrero de 2020.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"article-title\">Olas de calor un 25 % m\u00e1s intensas<\/h2>\n<p>Febrero de 2020 fue anormalmente c\u00e1lido en la pen\u00ednsula ant\u00e1rtica. La ola de calor que se produjo entre los d\u00edas 6 y 11 fue una de las m\u00e1s intensas de las registradas en la regi\u00f3n: se present\u00f3 con anomal\u00edas de la temperatura media de m\u00e1s de 4,5 \u00baC y dej\u00f3 un r\u00e9cord de temperatura en la pen\u00ednsula el 6 de febrero de 2020, con un registro de 18,3 \u00b0C en la base Esperanza.<\/p>\n<p>Para cuantificar el papel del cambio clim\u00e1tico en la magnitud de esta ola de calor regional de seis d\u00edas, los investigadores estudiaron eventos similares acontecidos en per\u00edodos pasados (1950-1984) y recientes (1985-2019). Los resultados mostraron que olas de calor similares a las de 2020 en la pen\u00ednsula ant\u00e1rtica son ahora al menos aproximadamente 0,4 \u00b0C m\u00e1s c\u00e1lidas que en el per\u00edodo anterior, lo que representa un aumento del 25 % en su intensidad.<\/p>\n<p>Asimismo, se observ\u00f3 que la probabilidad de experimentar anomal\u00edas medias regionales de 6 d\u00edas por encima de unos 2 \u00b0C ha aumentado diez veces desde 1950-1984. Los cambios en la circulaci\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica experimentados recientemente en la zona no son capaces de explicar el aumento de temperatura durante este evento y por ello el estudio concluye
