Este desarrollo podr\u00eda ser empleado en pavimentos, azoteas y fachadas para reducir el consumo energ\u00e9tico en las ciudades.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Este cemento\u00a0se basa en el empleo de principios de \u00f3ptica y f\u00edsica de materiales, que optimizan la reflexi\u00f3n de la radiaci\u00f3n solar para reducir la acumulaci\u00f3n de calor en entornos urbanos. En concreto, es capaz de reflejar eficazmente la radiaci\u00f3n solar, irradiar el calor acumulado al espacio y mitigar as\u00ed el efecto isla de calor urbano. Tiene, por tanto, impacto en ahorro energ\u00e9tico para refrigeraci\u00f3n y est\u00e1 preparado para ser industrializado, con un proceso productivo\u00a0compatible con el de la industria cementera y precio de mercado competitivo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cEsta tecnolog\u00eda est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ada para su aplicaci\u00f3n en entornos con alta densidad poblacional, donde el calor se acumula y la exposici\u00f3n solar es mayor. En concreto, es capaz de reducir hasta 12\u00b0C la temperatura urbana durante una ola de calor, con lo que aporta una mejora del confort t\u00e9rmico y una reducci\u00f3n del consumo energ\u00e9tico\u201d, destaca\u00a0Mar\u00eda Saiz, CEO de PhotoKrete.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Esta innovaci\u00f3n ha sido verificada en el marco del proyecto europeo\u00a0Horizon 2020 MIRACLE, de la mano de\u00a0Jorge S\u00e1nchez Dolado\u00a0(del Centro de F\u00edsica de Materiales -CSIC-UPV\/EHU-) y\u00a0Miguel Beruete\u00a0(UPNA), y validada en los siguientes entornos reales: la cubierta del\u00a0CFM, en San Sebasti\u00e1n, el\u00a0desierto de Tabernas\u00a0(Almer\u00eda), bajo condiciones extremas, y el edificio demostrador\u00a0KUBIK de Tecnalia\u00a0(Derio, Bizkaia). En todos los casos, el material redujo la temperatura superficial por debajo de la temperatura ambiental, lo que mejora el confort t\u00e9rmico, reduce el uso de aire acondicionado y mitiga el calor urbano.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">PhotoKrete nace del conocimiento generado en instituciones l\u00edderes en f\u00edsica de materiales, fot\u00f3nica y sostenibilidad, y es un ejemplo destacado de\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">deep tech<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0surgida del sistema p\u00fablico de I+D para transformar el sector de la construcci\u00f3n, especialmente en el contexto urbano y clim\u00e1tico actual.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Como reconocimiento a esta innovaci\u00f3n, PhotoKrete ha sido galardonada con el premio Construction Tech Startup Forum en REBUILD 2025, por ofrecer una soluci\u00f3n fot\u00f3nica, pasiva y escalable para combatir el efecto isla de calor y el cambio
