El tratamiento redujo la inflamaci\u00f3n y mejor\u00f3 la funci\u00f3n hep\u00e1tica, renal y vascular, aunque sin revertir completamente el da\u00f1o.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">La colestasis hep\u00e1tica es una enfermedad que se caracteriza por la acumulaci\u00f3n de \u00e1cidos biliares en el h\u00edgado, generando da\u00f1o hep\u00e1tico, alteraciones renales y vasculares, e inflamaci\u00f3n sist\u00e9mica. En los casos avanzados, el trasplante hep\u00e1tico sigue siendo la \u00fanica opci\u00f3n curativa, lo que impulsa a la b\u00fasqueda de abordajes complementarios seguras y efectivas que mejoren la calidad de vida de los pacientes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">En este contexto, los probi\u00f3ticos y prebi\u00f3ticos \u2014y su combinaci\u00f3n en simbi\u00f3ticos\u2014 han mostrado potencial para modular la microbiota intestinal y reducir la inflamaci\u00f3n en distintas enfermedades hep\u00e1ticas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ahora, un estudio llevado a cabo en m\u00faltiples instituciones p\u00fablicas espa\u00f1olas, liderado por el Dr. Javier Blanco Rivero (investigador en la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid y el Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n Biom\u00e9dica en Red de Enfermedades Cardiovasculares) ha analizado los efectos de un simbi\u00f3tico comercial, Prodefen\u00ae, en ratas con colestasis inducida quir\u00fargicamente.
