Moscow took second place, ahead of Paris, Berlin and Barcelona, in the overall standings of cities in the European ranking of the Future City ESG Innovation Index, which assesses the ability of megacities to create and promote technological solutions in the field of ecology, management and social sphere.

Moscow became the leader in the ESG Public Administration category. In particular, more than 130 thousand technology companies and over 3 thousand active start-ups are concentrated in the capital, of which more than 350 follow the principles of ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance).

The capital also took second place in two more categories of the rating: "Community of ESG-entrepreneurs" and "Social capital in the field of ESG".

Previously, it was reported that the Moscow government took second place among government agencies at the international competition Global ICT Excellence Awards in the Startup Ecosystem nomination.
