The city will have its own dedicated space to disseminate its strategy for the intelligent transformation as a benchmark in technological innovation applied to urban management

This year, Las Rozas City Council will take part in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2026 (SCEWC26), which will be held at  Fira de Barcelona from 3rd to 5th November, to present the projects framed in its strategy for the smart transformation of Las Rozas as a hub of innovation and talent. This has enabled it to establish itself as one of the leading international cities in these areas.

The SCEWC is the leading international benchmark event in urban innovation that every year brings together institutional representatives, political leaders, technology companies, research centres and experts in urban transformation to exchange knowledge, generate strategic alliances and discover the latest technologies to tackle the most urgent urban challenges.

Under the slogan "Urban Solutions, Real Impact", the event brings together more than 27,000 attendees from 138 countries, 1,000 cities, 1,100 exhibitors and almost 600 speakers during three days in Barcelona.

Over the past ten years, Las Rozas has made a strong commitment to the smart transformation of its territory, consolidating itself as an innovative and technologically advanced city and becoming a hub for innovation, talent, business and entrepreneurial development. The city has successfully developed innovative models of public-private partnership, enabling it to implement innovative solutions and establish itself as a hub for testing and validating cutting-edge technology across Europe. This strategy is the result of a joint effort made by the City Council, together with its municipal innovation and technological development company, Las Rozas Innova, and in collaboration with the local business and entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Las Rozas stand  will provide an opportunity to showcase this strategy, its technological projects and best practices, from the different areas of the municipal government, as well as from Las Rozas Innova, and from the technology companies and startups within its ecosystem such as Aeioros and Retail Tools, Grupo Maggioli, Cyclomedia, DNOTA-Bettair, NEC, Schreder; Dominion, Libelium, Orange Empresas and Viarium; DXC, Gewiss and Riversa-Irridea, who will be present at the city's stand as partners.

Furthermore, it is also the 10th city in Spain with the most technology companies, it is recognized as a "City of Science and Innovation" and as one of the seven smartest communities in the world. In recent years, the city has also become an urban laboratory for the latest technology under development, participating in 16 national and international R&D&i projects, in collaboration with over a hundred cities, companies and organisations across Europe.

An open and dynamic space

Las Rozas stand will be an open and dynamic space, which will act as a meeting point and exchange of knowledge between all the key players in the intelligent transformation of cities. It will have a programme of activities, presentations, round tables and technical demonstrations of high-value projects, which will demonstrate the integration of technologies in the city, such as Artificial Intelligence, data, the Internet of Things (IoT), digital twins, cybersecurity or virtual reality and their application in areas such as the digitalisation of the Public Administration itself, mobility, safety, sustainability, education or social innovation.

The stand will be conceived as a space to generate partnerships and open opportunities at both national and international level. Las Rozas currently presides  the Red Española de Ciudades Inteligentes (RECI) and is a member of the Intelligent Cities Challenge,  Red InnpulsoIntelligent Community ForumSmart City Cluster and  EIT Urban Mobility, among other networks and forums for the exchange of knowledge.
