Applications are now open for participants to propose solutions to four common problems in freight and logistics, autonomous technology, quantum and electric vehicles
The Company Lab (CO.LAB) and TennSMART, two prominent smart mobility accelerators, are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking challenge, set to revolutionize the landscape of sustainable mobility and transportation innovation. The two organizations have joined forces to host the first-ever Sustainable Mobility Reverse Pitch in the United States, focused on the future forward movement of goods, people, movement and data.
“There are major challenges that we’re facing now in the way that we move about our world,” said The Company Lab CEO Tasia Malakasis. “We’re working with major players to identify these problems and we’re looking for innovators to solve them. We believe startups are the answer to helping us move in the right direction.”
This challenge will feature key players in the sustainable mobility space, including former U.S. Xpress CEO Eric Fuller, the Founding Director for UTC’s Center for Urban Informatics and Progress Mina Sartipi, Kenco Logistics Vice President of Innovation, Research and Development Kristi Montgomery and members of EPB, TVA, IonQ.
“The idea of bringing together innovators and Tennessee’s top leaders in this space through a reverse pitch was unheard of,” said TennSMART Entrepreneurship & Commercialization Director Bryan Barringer. “This isn’t just going to highlight the brightest innovators in the country, but it’s also going to put the United States ahead of other countries focusing on sustainable mobility.”
Applications to enter the Sustainable Mobility Reverse Pitch are currently open and run until November 10. A panel will determine finalists for each of the four problems and select four winners, one for each problem, at the end of this program. The four winners will pitch live at the Tennessee Smart Mobility Expo on December 6 in Nashville. Prizes for winners include capital, pilot program opportunities, and accelerator acceptance.
