Forum to launch the revision of the Berlin Energy and Climate Protection Programme 2030

The participation process to further develop the Berlin Energy and Climate Protection Programme 2030 (BEK 2030) for the implementation period from 2022 to 2026 will launch with a forum on 15 September

Experts will provide an update on the current status of the implementation of BEK 2030, after which participants will be given the opportunity to contribute their suggestions and comments and ask questions.

The hybrid event will take place from 5-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 15 September 2021. Interested parties can participate in the process from 15 September on at mein.berlin.de (German only).

As available spaces at the event venue are limited, interested parties can also take part online via the live stream at mein.berlin.de. Besides obtaining information and following the content, participants will also be able to use the comment function to contribute their suggestions and ask questions. The combination of participation at the venue and online allows for a broad and diverse discussion.

The state of Berlin aims to protect the climate and drive the adaptation to climate change. To achieve this target, the state compiled the Berlin Energy and Climate Protection Programme with the participation of many Berlin actors; many measures were successfully realised during the implementation period from 2017 to 2021.

According to the provisions of the Berlin Energy Transition Act, the Berlin Energy and Climate Protection Programme must be revised and presented to the Berlin House of Representatives in regular intervals.

Once again, actors from a diverse range of fields will be involved in this process, including politics; administration; business; civil society; science; as well as citizens. They will be able to contribute their suggestions at various events and workshops until spring 2022; these will then be incorporated into the revision of the Berlin Energy and Climate Protection Programme.
