Belonging to a family lineage of journalists, Manuel Tarín Alonso began his career as a music and film critic. At just 18 years old, he joined El Mundo Deportivo, Spain's oldest sports newspaper and the second oldest in Europe, where he became director in 1988, succeeding the legendary Juan José Castillo.

In 2012, he ventured into the Smart City sector with The Smart City Journal (www.thesmartcityjournal.com) and has since dedicated himself to developing what is now the leading global publication in the field.

With degrees in Law, Political Science, and Journalism, Manuel Tarín Alonso has created a lasting legacy for the cities of the future.
