Virtual twin experiences reduce engineering and manufacturing cycles for complex automotive systems, streamline workflows, optimize resources, and accelerate time-to-market.
Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: FR0014003TT8, DSY.PA) and the Volkswagen Group have announced a long-term partnership to advance Volkswagen’s digital infrastructure for next-generation vehicle development by implementing Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
The Volkswagen Group has selected the cloud-based 3DEXPERIENCE platform as its primary engineering and manufacturing platform. Engineers, designers, and other professionals from Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche will use virtual twins to streamline vehicle development. This will allow teams to simulate, test, and refine every aspect of vehicle development in a collaborative virtual environment before physical production begins, ensuring compliance with global regulations and sustainability standards.
“We are advancing the development of our next-generation IT system landscape, and the decision to partner with Dassault Systèmes marks a significant milestone,” said Hauke Stars, Volkswagen Group Board Member for IT. “With consistent data flows and AI-powered solutions built on them, we are creating a true technological leap for our teams in vehicle development and factory planning. At the same time, we are sustainably reducing IT costs and accelerating processes by simplifying our system complexity and utilizing virtual twins.”
“The evolution of the industry in the context of the Generative Economy is pushing automotive companies to make transformative decisions that will take the vehicle experience to new heights,” said Pascal Daloz, CEO of Dassault Systèmes. “After four decades of partnership based on innovation and trust, we are opening a new chapter with the Volkswagen Group, with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform at its core. Our AI-powered virtual twins, combined with the power and resilience of the cloud, will unify Volkswagen Group’s hardware and software innovation, unlocking knowledge and expertise to accelerate its software-driven transformation.”
The Volkswagen Group will leverage four industrial solution experiences from Dassault Systèmes, built on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, to drive its innovation and digital transformation:
- Global Modular Architecture
- Smart, Safe, and Connected
- Efficient Multi-Energy Platform
- Vehicle Launch on Target
