“Each year the quality of solutions continues to increase, demonstrating the growing maturity of the Smart and Resilient City industry. Being selected as a semi-finalist in the QBE AcceliCITY program, among such impressive competitors, is already an outstanding achievement and worthy of the attention that cities around the world will now give each semi-finalist,” said Michael Lake, President & CEO of Leading Cities.

The world is beginning to recover from the paralyzing effects of the pandemic and cities everywhere are more eager to innovate now than ever before. To galvanize urban progress and propel them forward, the QBE AcceliCITY Resilience Challenge has sourced some of the most promising solutions to future-proof cities, protect their residents and workers, and establish more equitable conditions for all. The AcceliCITY program and its partners, help these companies succeed by connecting them with mentors from Leading Cities’ global network of smart city experts and city leaders.

Each semi-finalist will work with Leading Cities and industry mentors throughout the rest of the competition. Mentors will guide them to the proper channels, networks, people, and knowledge to do business with cities worldwide and to help them achieve their goals, increase the value they can offer, and help them grow.

With the application process behind them, these companies will also participate in a two-month, web-based curriculum featuring smart city leaders from around the world. Companies that are selected as finalists will participate the QBE AcceliCITY Boot Camp, where they will have the chance to connect with potential clients and investors. The boot camp makes a direct impact on the implementation and realization of a participant's mission and ensures finalists will have the solid foundation on which to build future success for their company as well as communities across the globe.
