Smart Mobility
Las Rozas opens a new Multimodal Mobility Area in the Business Park with chargers for cars, bikes and scooters
"We want to facilitate mobility in the city and access to different transport alternatives for citizens; they can choose the option that best suits their needs in their journeys," says De la Uz.
Las Rozas has already opened its second Multimodal Mobility Area in the Business Park, one of the most important economic and leisure centres in the city. This new space, managed by Las Rozas Innova, is located on Camilo José Cela Boulevard, between Heron City and Las Rozas Village shopping malls, and has eight spaces with charging points for electric vehicles and ten secure parking spaces for bicycles and scooters (locker type) with a charging plug. The area also has a free outdoor parking space to park Personal Mobility Vehicles and a photovoltaic pergola which generate clean energy for the installation's self-consumption.
"We want to make Las Rozas a more connected city, making it easier for residents to get around, offering them different alternatives to move though the city in a sustainable way and adapted to their needs," says José de la Uz, mayor of Las Rozas and president of Las Rozas Innova.
The Business Park Area is the second launched by Las Rozas City Council this year to improve connections inside and outside the city, as it connects points of interest such as Las Matas, the Business Park and the city centre, where there are also spaces for charging electric vehicles, bicycles and scooters.
In this way, the new chargers of the Business Park have been added to the network of Las Rozas Recarga that already has 56 charging points distributed in the different municipal parking of the city: León Tolstoy Library, Las Matas, Calle Cañadilla and Constitución. The network can be accessed through the Las Rozas Recarga app (iOS and Android) and is integrated with Zunder and other apps that aggregate charging solutions for electric vehicles.
Scooters & Bicycles
Las Rozas also has secure parking spaces (locker-type) for bicycles and scooters, equipped with plugs for recharging, both in the Las Matas Area (next to the Station) and in the Business Park, and free charging spaces in the Primero de Mayo Park and the Paris Park, launched last spring.
The works of the two Multimodal Mobility Areas have been carried out by the Department of Infrastructure and Works of the city council, directed by José Cabrera, with an investment of 374,614 euros, financed in part with the Funds of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the European Union, Next Generation EU Funds, obtained through the European Funds Fundraising Office of Las Rozas Innova. This office manages all the services in both areas as well as the rest of the city's public car parks that the Municipal Innovation Company has remodelled in recent years, providing the facilities with the latest technologies to make their management more efficient and sustainable and as part of the actions included in the city's Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan.
