Expo 2020 Dubai’s Urban and Rural Development Week will explore the future of smHow will the world’s growing population live smartly and sustainably in the future? That’s the question being explored by leading development experts, technology visionaries and government officials from some of the world’s most populous and resilient cities during Expo 2020’s Urban and Rural Development Week.
Running from 3-4 November, the digital event will discuss the future of smart cities and sustainable habitats and is the latest in a series of 10 thematic weeks being held ahead of Expo 2020 next year.
Hosted in collaboration with United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and Premier Infrastructure Digitalisation Partner Siemens, Urban and Rural Development Week will probe what makes urban environments resilient and how humanity can live and grow in balance with the planet.
Speakers will include Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, Director General of Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau and UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation; Helmut von Struve, Chief Executive Officer, Siemens UAE and Middle East; and Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Executive Director, UN-Habitat.
With Q&A sessions and panel discussions and updates from partners and participating countries, the event also features representatives from a range of organisations dedicated to improving the lives of people in urban and rural and communities. Expo 2020’s thematic weeks will help unlock solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges to help shape a better, more sustainable future for all.
